Brad Paquette, a Michigan state legislator, recently shared several posts on his social media account addressing issues ranging from justice for individuals to legislative priorities and political culture.
On April 9, 2026, Paquette expressed support for Jonni Skinner, writing: “Jonni Skinner @JonniSkinner is one of the kindest souls I’ve ever encountered. He deserves justice.”
Two days later, on April 10, 2026, Paquette highlighted bipartisan agreement in the Michigan House regarding the relationship between nutrition and health care. He stated: “There are many in the Michigan House on both sides who agree that food is medicine. I am grateful that there is a priority for this legislation which will put specific emphasis on that mantra in continuing education requirements for physicians, physician’s assistants, and nurses.” This comment reflects ongoing efforts within Michigan’s legislature to incorporate nutritional education into medical training standards.
On April 11, 2026, Paquette commented on the challenges faced by those in positions of power and suggested reforms aimed at reducing undue influence from lobbyists. He wrote: “Anyone can fall. Culture in political power centers is adept at facilitating falls. Instead of reveling in one man’s fall, why not pour energy into changing that culture? One practical step could be this: Lobbyists should be prohibited from buying anything for lawmakers.” Such statements align with broader national conversations about ethics reform and transparency in government.
Paquette has served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives since 2019.
