It is very real. It is not rare.”

Later that day, Paquette described an encounter with his political opponent who visited his office unannounced on Transgender Capitol Awareness Day. According to Paquette, the opponent expressed opposition to his “beliefs and bills,” without having read them or attempting to understand their content fully. The interaction followed a discussion where they reportedly agreed on certain aspects related to sex and gender identity issues. “The democrat running against me stopped by the office unannounced on transgender capitol awareness day to say he/they opposes ‘my beliefs and bills,’ which he/they did not read and appears to not care to understand.”

On May 15, 2025, Paquette shared a personal story about Jay Skeeters, whom he regards as one of the most inspirational individuals he has met. Skeeters was born with a disorder of sex development and underwent castration as an infant to be raised female. Despite these challenging medical experiences, Skeeters developed a heart full of forgiveness and gratefulness according to Paquette’s account.“Jay Skeeters is one of the most inspirational people I have ever met.”
