City of New Buffalo recently issued the following announcement.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the beach this season. We hope it was an enjoyable experience for you.

A big shout out to the entire beach staff for all their hard work his summer. Without my amazing staff the beach would not run as smoothly as it does.

A big thanks to the lifeguards! They did an amazing job carefully watching over all the beach goers and keeping them safe this summer.

Here a a few interesting facts about the beach that you may or may not know.

New Buffalo Beach is 800 feet long, and the harbor area is 400 feet long.

On our busiest day this season the beach had 1044 visitors.

The lifeguards made 13 major rescues and 19 minor rescues, for a total of 32 rescues.

With a strong North wind the water line can rise and fall one and a half feet.

The parking lot has 207 parking spots, 5 of which are handicapped. The overflow lot can hold 50 additional cars when we utilize it.

Thanks again to everyone, we hope to see you next season!

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite shots from this season.here.
