Berrien County residents can now schedule appointments with Secretary of State offices

Schedule 1000x667

Handling personal affairs and some business at the Michigan Secretary of State’s (SOS) office may now be a lot less frustrating for Berrien County residents.

The offices are now accepting appointments online and by telephone for residents in that county, who previously were unable to do so.

“It’s an opportunity to eliminate a lot of headaches when it comes to the mundane process of renewing a driver’s license or transferring a vehicle title,” said state Rep. Brad Paquette (R-Niles) in a press release.

Appointments can be made online at Michigan.gov/SOSAppointments or by calling 888-SOS-MICH.

Some services are offered online, making it possible for residents to completely avoid a trip to an SOS branch. Online services include ordering new license plates, copies of vehicle and title registrations, driver’s license and state ID renewals, as well as license plate renewals. Some business services for vehicle dealers, mechanics and driver’s education instructors are also available online.

Self-service stations in many Michigan SOS offices and select Kroger stores are another option.
