We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time patrol officer. General Summary:
Our officers proudly provide law enforcement services to citizens residing in and visiting the City of Bridgman.
Typical duties and responsibilities:
• Investigate reports of crimes, accidents, and other incidents.
• Gather, protect, and process evidence.
• Enforce ordinances and statutes, making arrests where appropriate; processing and protecting prisoners as required.
• Providing traffic and parking enforcement and traffic control.
• Responding to other calls for service, such as motorist’s assists, etc.
• Complete all necessary reports, tickets, forms, and in-house paperwork as required.
• Check out suspicious subjects, vehicles, and situations.
• Serve subpoenas and other documents as required.
• As appropriate, conduct property checks of businesses, public buildings and areas, and private homes.
• Provide preventive patrol.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Successfully complete all phases of the selection process.
Have completed training at an accredited police academy and be licensed through MCOLES is preferred but we are willing to fill this vacancy by sponsoring a candidate in a 2023 police academy. The academy would likely begin in January and conclude in April.

Must possess a valid driver’s license and very good driving record. Must be willing to work holidays, weekends and all shifts assigned.
Must pass an extensive background investigation.
Compensation:
Starting salary is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Holiday premiums and overtime are available.
