Brad Paquette, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, has recently voiced support on social media for legislative efforts aimed at restricting certain medical treatments for minors. In a series of posts on July 30 and July 31, 2025, Paquette outlined his position and referenced upcoming legislative activity.

On July 30, Paquette stated, "Michigan should join the ranks banning experimentation on vulnerable youth sooner rather than later. Committee hearings to do so coming soon for House Bills 4466-68."

The following day, he added, "Stopping chemical and surgical castration of children is not an attack on anyone." Later that same day, Paquette shared a quote from Voltaire: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities. Voltaire's adage speaks to today as it is grounded in understanding of human nature. 2025 is no different in the history of human civilization because the nature of human beings remains the same."

House Bills 4466-68 are expected to be considered in committee hearings soon. These bills seek to regulate or ban certain medical interventions involving minors in Michigan.

In recent years, similar legislative proposals have emerged across several U.S. states seeking to limit or prohibit gender-affirming care for minors. Such measures have prompted significant public debate over medical ethics and parental rights.

Paquette represents a district in Michigan’s legislature and has previously engaged in discussions around youth policy and healthcare regulation.
