Brad Paquette, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, shared a series of posts on his social media account in mid-August 2025 addressing both political and cultural topics.

On August 17, 2025, Paquette referenced Dr. Mary Talley Bowden in a post that read: "Some doctors kept their heads down. Not Mary Talley Bowden."

The following day, August 18, he outlined what he sees as critical factors for the future success of the Michigan Republican Party: "The future of Michigan Republican success depends on three things:

1. Returning to a sound definition of Conservativism

2. Ethics Reform and Statesmanship

3. Openness and Discourse while casting a wide net among the populace to discern where progression is necessary"

On August 19, Paquette commented on an online trend with: "Burke is trending, but it sadly is not Edmund Burke."

Paquette has represented Michigan's 78th District since 2019 and is known for his advocacy on conservative principles within state politics. The mention of Dr. Mary Talley Bowden references her public stance during the COVID-19 pandemic when she became noted for challenging mainstream medical guidance. His comments about Edmund Burke allude to the influential Anglo-Irish statesman and philosopher regarded as a foundational figure in conservative thought.
