Brad Paquette, a Michigan State Representative, has recently shared a series of posts on his social media platform X addressing topics ranging from gender identification to environmental concerns and social attitudes among voters.

On September 7, 2025, Paquette wrote, "Birth certificates indicate sex of a person... but the left is changing it to gender for pseudoscientific reasons."

The following day, on September 8, 2025, he commented on voter attitudes with the statement: "6% of women who voted for Harris think being married or having children is important for success."

Later that same day, Paquette raised an environmental issue related to watercraft use: "Surf boats on small lakes are killing fish and destroying waterfront property. Some other states put in limitations for these wave boats and I am wondering if anyone has any thoughts. This is a video a constituent sent to me after visiting last week."

Paquette represents Michigan's 78th House District. He has previously been vocal about state-level policy issues including education standards and environmental protection measures. In recent years, there has been increased debate across various U.S. states regarding updates to birth certificate language to reflect gender identity rather than assigned sex at birth. Additionally, surf boats—also known as wake boats—have prompted legislative responses in several states due to their impact on small lake ecosystems and shoreline erosion.
