Kim’s Coat Drive for Kids -- an effort to collect new and gently used coats for southwest Michigan children, sponsored by state Sen. Kim LaSata (R-Bainbridge Twp.) -- will take place for the second year in a row, regardless of the challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic and related government restrictions.

“Last year’s inaugural Kim’s Coat Drive for Kids was a huge success, and I am excited to announce we’re bringing it back for 2020,” LaSata said, according to MiSenateGOP. “We’re not going to let the coronavirus stop us.”

She and her staff will still be taking the necessary precautions to avoid transmission of COVID-19, she said.

“Those wishing to donate a new or gently used coat are being asked to call or email my office, and we’ll arrange to have the items picked up,” LaSata told MiSenateGOP.
