City of New Buffalo issued the following announcement.
Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th, between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m.,
Amtrak will be unloading new rail along the railroad line between Galien and Michigan City, including New Buffalo.
This is the first step in a larger track upgrade project.
Amtrak is committed to providing advance notice for track reconstruction this Spring, which will also take place overnight and will produce some noise.
