CITY OF ST. JOSEPH: Absent Voter Update, October 30 – and Precinct 2 Ice Arena Voting Information

Voting

City of St. Joseph issued the following announcement.

As of mid-afternoon Friday, October 30, the Clerk’s Office had issued 3,216 Absentee Ballots, and 2,772 of those ballots have been returned.  That is 86.2% returned so far.

In the 2016 presidential election 97% of absentee ballots were returned; we still have 4 days to go.

We are still receiving new requests for ballots—if you look at last Friday’s update you will see we have sent out 160 ballots in the last week.  Remember, ballots must be returned to the Clerk by 8pm on Election Day.  We have a drop box in front of the main entrance to City Hall, and a drive-up drop box in the alley next to the building.

The Clerk’s Office at City Hall will be open tomorrow, Saturday, October 31, from 8am-4pm.  The Clerk’s Office must be open the Saturday before each election.

For Precinct 2 voters, if you drive to the Ice Arena to vote in person, please drive down Napier Avenue to Willa Drive and enter the parking lot from Willa.  The parking lot entrance on Kingsley will not be accessible on Tuesday, as construction work on Kingsley will be finishing up and the road will be closed to traffic.  And remember to enter the facility using the door to the right of the main entrance—there is a one-way traffic flow for voting, you will enter to the right and then will exit the main doors after voting.  There will be signs to help you go to the correct door.

For any questions regarding voting, please contact the Clerk’s Office at clerk@sjcity.com or call 269-983-6324.  Thank you, and we hope you have a great weekend!
