CITY SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR BOARDS & COMMISSIONS!

City of Portage issued the following announcement on Aug 10.

The Portage City Council is seeking Portage residents to get involved in local government by serving on a City Council Advisory Board or Commission. The advice received from these groups assists the City Council and the City Administration in making Portage A Natural Place to Move! 

Applications for Boards and Commissions are accepted throughout the year; however, immediate vacancies and/or reappointments exist on the following:

» Senior Citizens Advisory Board

» Historic District Commission

» Economic Development Corporation/Tax Increment Finance Authority/Brownfield Redevelopment Authority

» Human Services Board

» Environmental Board

» Park Board

» Planning Commission*

» Zoning Board of Appeals*

*Those with zoning and planning backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Council will interview applicants on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Interested residents are asked to submit an application at portagemi.gov/151 by September 17, 2021. Citizens interested in serving on an Advisory Board or Commission must be a registered voter of the City of Portage.
