City of Hartford recently issued the following announcement.
YOU ARE INVITED - The Van Buren Regional Genealogical Society will welcome Civil War Historian, John Urschel, on Saturday, August 21, beginning at 11 am, at the Hartford Public Library, 12 Church St., in Hartford, MI. Mr. Urschel will present a program about the “Battle of Tebbs Bend”, its connection to Michigan and the memorial marker that was placed at the site to commemorate Michigan’s involvement.
Mr. Urschel is well known for his book series titled “Michigan Boys in Blue” and for the many others that he has compiled honoring our Civil War veterans and recounting this most important event in our country’s history.
This is a free event and open to the public
