Notice to Qualified Electors in Niles...

NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE

ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY,

AUGUST 2, 2022

CITY OF NILES, MICHIGAN

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF NILES:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of the City of Niles who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the City Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office, or other designated state agency.  Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the City Clerk.  Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com.

The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 18, 2022.

After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency (MCL168.497) at the City of Niles Clerk’s office, located at 333 N. 2nd St., Niles, MI 49120 at the following times:

Regular business hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. excluding 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, July 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Election Day, Tuesday, August 2nd from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Persons with disabilities needing accommodations should contact the clerk’s office.

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF NILES:

Notice is hereby given that a primary election will be held in the City of Niles on Tuesday, August 2, 2022.  The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At the following locations:

Precinct 1            Niles-Buchanan YMCA, 905 North Front Street

Precinct 2            Niles-Buchanan YMCA, 905 North Front Street

Precinct 3            Niles Fire Station, 1345 East Main Street

Precinct 4            Niles FOP Lodge 95, 531 North State Street

Absentee ballots are available for all elections; registered voters may contact the local clerk to obtain an application for an absent voter ballot.

To comply with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), voting instructions will be available in audio format and in Braille.  Arrangements for obtaining the instructions in these alternative formats can be made by contacting the city clerk in advance of the election.  All polling locations are accessible for voters with disabilities.
