From December 13–20, the North Berrien Historical Museum hosted field trips for local elementary classes from Coloma, Watervliet, and Countryside Academy.

The various groups of second and third graders learned the history of the Christmas tree tradition, decorated gingerbread houses, and toured the holiday décor. Coloma and Watervliet classes also received a special visit from their respective libraries who read them Christmas stories. Before leaving the students voted on their three favorite trees decorated by local sponsors, the results of which will soon be announced as the Student’s Choice awards.

This program was made possible in part by a grant from the Berrien Community Foundation. Thank you students and teachers for the memorable visits!
